Playing Outdoors with Bubbles

We provide age appropriate activities that stimulate learning through exploration and discovery. Montessori called the child under 6 years old “a sensorial explorer” and based her educational approach for the child’s early years upon the child’s learning through the senses. Children under 3 years of age have a unique ability to absorb the qualities of their environment just by being exposed to them, so we are very careful about what we include in this environment to encourage focus and exploration.

Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but through experiences in the environment. Children who are confident that they can take care of their environment and take care of their own needs develop self-esteem, and that is why in each classroom we include life skills. For example, children are encouraged to clean tables and put everything away when they are done.

Our curriculum is theme-based which encourages children to form patterns. Recent brain research points out the significance of creating patterns and assisting children in figuring out their connection to learning. When all the learning activities are connected around a single theme, children see how learning is inter-connected. For example, science isn’t just a subject that stands alone, but it is intimately related to reading and math. Teaching with themes is a good way to engage children in the learning process, and help them make connections about the world around them.

Our curriculum put also a lot of importance on the introduction of positive value such as honesty, generosity, patience and respect for each other to help them better understand the society we live in and to help children develop into caring adults.
